FIFA Prop Bet: Loss

So the first of our series of prop bets ended with a loss.
The guy has played hundreds more matches than me, so I don't feel it was unexpected.
I regret that I didn't get odds on it, evens was not right here.
I lost three matches clearly, but I managed one 3-0 win, which pleased my little ego.

I'm now in the process of figuring out what the next prop bets will be.
They will undoubtedly be of a bit bigger stature.
Things being considered are:
- Track & Field
- Marathon
- Triathlon
- Golf, perhaps extreme golf

Something like this, although not as extreme or for those sums:

All will be well documented of course.

Any prop bet suggestions are welcome.

Preparation for Tennis bet underway!

I've finally decided to start doing something about my physical form for the tennis bet I've been talking about.
This lump I call a body really needs to improve quite a few notches before it's even in an acceptable condition for taking another man's money.

I've purchased a lot of bananas, which in hindsight may not be such a good decision, since they rot pretty quickly...
No more alcohol for a while or (insert drink containing lots of sugar).

Since it's impossible to play tennis outside yet, I have been playing lots of Wii.
I know it's not ideal, but I don't think it's such a good idea to use one of the walls inside to practice against.

Mark my words: I will win this, no matter what it takes.

Another Uneventful Weekend (Sort of)

Alcohol, football and gambling.
Those are the things I've done this weekend.
On friday I started working after my holiday and I realized that the only bad aspect about my job is mostly working weekends.
That's basically everything that happened on Friday.

Saturday was an entirely different ball game.
Working from 10am to 10pm, then going out drinking.
Special is the word for this night.

After a short party we decided to hit the road with nowhere to go.
We drove to the local ski resort, so now I can say I've been there.
But I don't ski.
A mate wanted us to pick him up, and we took some "reverse shortcuts".
He turned a bit crazy and he still hasn't talked to me.
I don't really care right now.
At the same place that the above mentioned mate was, another friend of mine almost got beaten up because he decided to tell a Manchester United fan how much they sucked, smart.
He apparently managed to talk himself out of getting beaten by saying that United would win the league.

Today has been all about gambling.
Playing the ridiculous $200k and some other tournaments with decent success.
Cashing and finishing in 2000th place is a very strange feeling.

In other news:
The FIFA prop bet has not yet been played.
I will do a huge write-up about it when it happens.

Light training for the tennis prop bet has also begun, playing 1 hour of wii tennis today.
That's how the pros do it, right?

So there was not much adventure this weekend, but I promise things will improve on the adventure scale by summer.

Plans include building a pirate ship.
Now that's fun!

Fighting Australians

I have recently found out that I have one week off in July.
And I need to travel.
Can't stay in Norway all the time, it's not that great here.

So I'm considering where to go.

I've found out that there is a Michael Jackson concert that week in London, and I'm thinking I'll have to go before he A: dies or B: get's caught again.

The same weekend there is the Ashes in London, a cricket match between England and Australia, a heated rivalry.
But I don't really care much for cricket.
Because when you realize just how little televised cricket there is on TV here, you wouldn't think that it's strange that I don't care.

But I guess a cricket match is something I'll have to see.
Drink lots of beer and fight with Australians, that's always fun, isn't it?
And with experience I've come to see that anything can become interesting if you have had enough alcohol. (Watching curling while drunk makes it a great sport, would love to try it drunk).

This builds on my theory that every sport will be better if played drunk.
Could you imagine the drunk javelin or the drunk orienteering?
Dangerous, yet hilarious!
Who wouldn't like that?

Midnight Madness, literally

Last night I had what so far is perhaps the longest poker session I've ever had.
I think I played for 20 hours straight.
All through the session I was crippled by bad beats, but I knew I had to play through it.
I was rewarded by getting the 15th place in the Midnight Madness.

And that tournament is really mad.
I saw several all-in calls with hands like T5o, K6s etc.
And they all got further than me, donks.

So the next day and a half will be cram packed with work, some poker and some FIFA practice before the big prop bet final on Sunday.

I'll post my Tippeliga predictions as soon as I'm done with them.
As usual it will be incredibly tight, and hopefully Rosenborg go down, although I doubt it.

Back to back final tables

I've been running both very good and very bad the last few days.
Highlights including a guy calling my all-in on the turn, hitting his gutshot straight draw on the river.
AA losing to 36o was another favourite of mine.

But when all came to all I had two final tables.
One on Full Tilt, that gave me an 8th place for $258 and the one on Stars right now for $587.
I went out with QQ vs K5 on Stars, so that kept me away from the $3,4k first prize.

Not much else to report, and I just hope the good times keep on coming with the Irish Open satellite coming up on Sunday and the final $250k satellite on Cake on Saturday.
No doubt will be a pretty sober weekend.

Also looking into going to some big events this summer, perhaps the Jacko concert.
Let's face it, he won't be going on many more tours, if any.

Sports I don't care about: Orienteering

What makes people run around in the woods, trying to find posts before returning to the same place they started?
It's probably the worst sport for the audience that there has ever been, and probably ever will be.
Perhaps only beaten by underwater biking.

At the same time it's horrible for TV.
It's like the person created the sport was a part of some secret society or something, wanting no one to know where he was going.
So let's just hope the deforestation continues so the sport goes extinct.
Do something that is more fun, perhaps cutting off your legs or watching paint dry?

But if we can't kill it, we could take these steps to make it watchable:
- Change the posts with shots of Tequila
- Lose the map
- Lose the compass

If that doesn't work, just have some search and rescue people ready for the morning after.
Good luck finding the drunk orienteerers!
