Weight Loss Prop

I'm pretty sure I'm very drunk right now, but I'll write this as it's of immense importance in my life. At this time, there is sort of a week long festival in my home town Orkanger, where everyone meets to get drunk and talk bs.

I entered into a conversation about a friend of mine who looks fat, but he insists he has lost weight. Now, I'm a bit on the heavy side myself, and I feel I need to do something about it. I'm unsure about his weight, but he claims he's at 83kg. I'm 100+ at the moment, which is not a good thing. Nevertheless I bet him that I would weigh less than him at 3rd Jan 2010. He gave me odds, as it's obvious that I'm the one in for the sweat here, so I put up £1k to his £2k. I already enlisted my flatmate to be my trainer, so I'll get some quality help to watch what I'm eating. And even if I don't win the bet, I'll certainly shed quite a few unneeded kgs on the way.

To keep my mind occupied I'll be betting and playing poker as much as ever!

Summer Prop Bets

I just wanted to do a summary of the prop-bets I'll be doing with a mate this summer.

60 meter sprint.
I used to be pretty quick, but I'm a bit bigger now then I was back then. I'm however convinced that I can beat my notoriously slow friend. We made a bet when we were standing in a bar, and 1st July we'll race. Don't expect Bolt times.

FIFA bet
100 matches with me getting +5. Already lost the first six, so I'm behind. I suck at FIFA really, but I made this bet in order to get him to take a reverse bet in NHL, where I'm 99% sure I'll win

NHL bet
The reverse of the above mentioned FIFA bet. I'll take this.

Tennis bet
We are both terrible tennis players, and pretty evenly matched. If I manage to shed a few more pounds before the end of next month, then I think I'll beat him.

There'll probably be loads more, but those are the ones we're doing. I'd welcome suggestions for what two guys in their early twenties, who are both a bit on the heavy side, can bet on.

School vs Gambling

It’s really tough having to face the fact that sometimes I’ll have to choose school over gambling. I’ve had one exam already, which I’m pretty sure went down the drain. I'd much rather do a lot of other stuff now, as it seems like everyone else have started their summer holiday.

But in all seriousness I’ve been doing better and better with the poker. I got a backing deal earlier in the year for tournaments, but I quit tournaments and started grinding cash. After a great March, a mediocre April and a solid May, I’ve really been thinking about my career choices. A degree in Finance and Administration is probably the nuts regarding versatility, but the fact that I have no idea what I’d do with it is a bit scary. Hopefully I can pass at least 1 of the 3 remaining exams, so I can really get my mind together in the summer.

So for the summer I'll be grinding as much as I possibly can, starting on 15th June when the last exam is over, and I can finally focus on poker and World Cup! Aiming for a rake race at Cake in July, and travelling in August. Sounds pretty good to me.

I do have one worry though, and that's the Norwegian equivalent of the UIGEA, which came into effect today. Heard some people talking about Moneybookers not working, which got me a bit scared, seeing that 70% of everything I've got is in there.

Hopefully it'll work out, and the summer can live up to my high expectations.

It's been a long time

I haven't written anything in a long time now.
Life's changing quickly. I've left home and moved to Trondheim. I'm starting a band that is shaping up to be something good, and I'm gambling as much as ever without really finding my feet.

Most people that move realise that moving is really stressful, and that there are almost always something unforeseen happening.
And because I've been running into some unforeseen expenses, I might have to cut back on the gambling that has given me a healthy side income over the last six months.
I still have some room though, and barring anything more popping up, then I'll be able to keep it up at least for a month or two. Thus these months will be crucial for a lot of things. If I don't have a decent roll by summer, then I'll have to find a job, which is something I'm not the biggest fan of right now.

I'm still optimistic that I'll get everything back on track before summer, and that I'll be able to both betting and poker.
I've also looked into options, such as finding a backer for poker, which I think I could be able to do, as I've got pretty decent stats across several sites. But it has to be right. Everything has to be serious, and if I get a good backer behind me, then I'll be able to move up the stakes.

Worst case scenario is having to find a part time job, but that again will help me pay for a decent starting roll after summer, so the worst case isn't really bad at all.

Other than that there are loads of things to look forward to.
Football is on all the time, and the Olympics are starting in just a few days. You could imagine with me being Norwegian, that this is the time we shine.
Hoping that Northug takes home a few gold medals, and that we beat the Swedes in everything except for Ice Hockey.

But now I'm off to watch Villa - United and Arsenal - Liverpool, and I'm slightly regretting my bet on United, as the odds were a bit short, but with Rooney's form, I think they'll take it.
